Paramita Roy is a filmmaker and her film credits include short films, TV commercials, and features. She is recognised for her work in the Canberra Times, and the NT News. An alum of Australian Film, Television, and Radio School (AFTRS) Paramita is currently close to completion of a Masters Program in screenplay writing. Although she works as a freelance filmmaker, her true passion lies in the dark comedy projects. In addition to filmmaking, she teaches at the Swinburne University. Arabia and these days she lives in Adelaide, Australia. Whenever an opportunity arises Paramita loves
to travel, and she often draws inspiration from the people she meets and the stories she learns first-hand.

Paramita Roy is currently working on a few short comedies. One of the films is 'Mums Behind the Masks'. This short film is sponsored by the City of Unley, to be filmed in October 2021. It will be a collaborative project with the local creatives. This will create acting opportunities for many members of the local communities. It is a transformational journey of four Mums. The characters represent different cultures and will develop cultural awareness within the local and global community.
