ANOTHER
DAY IN PARADISE" & “"PARADISE LOST"
have been premiered on Friday, 5th
February, at Hoyts, Woden
“PARADISE
LOST” While two nations celebrate 26th of
January, a mother and a girlfriend grieve. In memory of
those who have lost their lives to violence.
"ANOTHER
DAY IN PARADISE" is about three teachers and
their journey. It takes place in Canberra (Australia) and
Kolkata (India). It's a story about the resilience and courage
of teachers who believe in public education. The film has
been made with the support, cooperation and involvement of
local talents who have great passion, interest and love for
this visual medium. This film has also provided an opportunity
for local actors to gain screen acting experience. Our main
actors in the film, Hanna Cormick, Melanie Faris, Rubik Roy,
and Arun Basu are residents of Canberra. There was also a
special appearance by veteran Indian actor Sunil Sarkar. The
cinematographer Qing Meng, and sound recordist Ken Ochiai
were both Master of Filmmaking students from Sydney University.
The Indian contingent includes Subhankar Bhar (Camera), Arpan
Kayet & Joydev Sahoo (sound), Pinka Kundu & Joy Sardar
(Light). The soundtrack to this film has been created by local
musician Cicilia Kemezys and her music troupe, which includes
Paul Santiago (guitar), Jorge Bontes (voice and percussion),
Peter Swain (didgeridoo). The other talented composer who
has very kindly allowed us to use his music in our film is
Nitin Dubey from India. Local singer Arun Basu has sang Mr
Dubey’s composition. The film was edited by Stefan Kussy.
The Premiere was held on Friday, the 5th of February, when
the two films ‘Another Day in Paradise’ &
‘Paradise Lost’ were shared with cast, crew &
Canberra film enthusiasts. |
